Dental x-rays are an important part of your oral health. A clinical examination by a dental professional allows for caries detection on the visible surfaces of the teeth, but areas between teeth and under the gumline can only be detected using dental radiographs. Routine dental X-rays are recommended once every 1-2 years and when dental concerns arise. Dental radiographs are also able to detect bone lesions of the jaw, some sinus problems, signs of infection, and the health of the temporomandibular joint.

At Molina Dentistry, each dental operator is equipped with an on-hand digital radiograph system that allows for patient comfort and immediate results.

Oral Cancer Screenings

The cancer screening has two stages: the first is to check the visible soft tissues for growths or suspicious lesions of the tongue, palate, cheeks, throat, and gums while the second entails reviewing the panoramic x-ray to evaluate the bone, nerve, sinuses and joint for pathology. We know that recognizing and diagnosing lesions in the initial stages can be life-saving. If you have any areas of concern, please make us aware so that we can rule out any need for further evaluation.
